Design description
The name FLUMINA is derived from Latin and means streams or rivers - and for good reason. This pendant lamp is designed so that light flows freely through the form, softly diffusing into the space like a reflection on a sheet of water.
The FLUMINA pendant lamp is a nod to the design discipline that was born in the Bauhaus school - a place where form always served function. Its design is a praise of clean lines, economy of means and nobility of materials. The simple silhouette of the lamp, free of unnecessary ornamentation, is based on symmetry and proportion, which derive from the canons of the current of international modernism.
Lamp components and functionality
FLUMINA was created from a combination of natural wood and fluted glass - this combination brings both visual lightness and textural differentiation. The rhythm of vertical grooves on the glass shade gently diffuses the light, providing a subtle penetrating and shadowing effect, while the warm tone of the wood brings softness and balance to the interior. The fixture measures 20.5 x 9.3 x 19 cm.
Suspended from a polyester braided textile cable, the lamp presents itself as a refined, functional light object - whether in the dining room, over a kitchen island, or in a living room or commercial spaces like an office or restaurant.
FLUMINA has an interchangeable light source with an E14 thread (up to 9W LED), which allows you to individually select both the power and the color of light - depending on your design needs and the mood of the interior.
Application and IP20 protection class
FLUMINA was designed for safe use in dry, domestic spaces. Its IP20 protection class means that it will do well in interiors where it is not exposed to direct contact with water or excessive moisture. It's an ideal solution wherever the light is meant to build atmosphere - without needing additional protection from the elements. However, it is worth remembering that FLUMINA is not intended for bathrooms, kitchens near the sink area, or terraces or balconies.
The Flumina pendant lamp goes well with the standing lamp and wall lamp from the same series, creating a cohesive, modern lighting set. Such a combination allows to maintain visual continuity in the space, combining ceiling, table and wall lighting into one harmonious composition.

Designed by
Michał Markiewicz
Designer, interior architect, co-founder and main creator of the UMMO Lighting brand. He comes from Gdansk, Poland, where he developed a passion for design from an early age. Even as a child he created lamps from available materials, rearranging lampshades and experimenting with form. Over time, he naturally gravitated towards interior design and industrial design, combining functionality with aesthetics in his own way.
He graduated with a degree in Interior Design, and also gained experience as a jewelry and furniture designer. Today he focuses on lighting, which he treats as “jewelry of the interior.” - It not only complements the space, but becomes its focal point. He draws inspiration from everyday life: forms, textures and shapes present in the environment.
His creative process involves a journey from sketch to prototype and final product, with functionality being paramount - each lamp must not only catch the eye, but also shine well. Michał's designs are dominated by recyclable materials: metal, glass, wood. UMMO's style is recognizable for its distinctive form and color, as well as its attention to quality and timelessness.
For Michał, local production and sustainable design are particularly important to minimize environmental impact and promote conscious design. UMMO Lighting is a brand that, through his vision, combines aesthetics with responsibility and craftsmanship with modernity.
