Design description
ROKKE STONE is a wall luminaire that combines elegance and with a distinct geometric character. Its form is based on a flattened oval - a shape often found in the modernist architecture of Gdynia, which UMMO treats as a symbol of functionality combined with visual harmony. This detail - subtle but recurring in the design language of the interwar era - became the starting point for the creation of the wall sconce.
For the STONE version, UMMO opted for a more refined finish - a matte glazed stoneware surface. This is a material with a subdued texture, which resembles natural stone, and at the same time perfectly fits the aesthetics of interiors that are frugal in form, but require a more refined finish.
ROKKE STONE is designed for customers who are looking for a compromise between modern minimalism and eye-catching detail - without shouting, but rather building a consistent and mature character for a premium space.
The name ROKKE refers to the Norwegian word for stingray - a sea creature whose movement and form are the source of visual inspiration for this fixture. The lamp's softly splayed body, with gently sloping lines, evokes the fluid, organic movement of a stingray gliding just above the ocean floor. This subtle motif of nature has been translated into the language of modern design - where streamlined form meets geometric discipline. ROKKE is a lamp with a distinct character, which brings into the interior not only light, but also a sense of fluidity, calmness and visual lightness.
Lamp components and functionality
The body of the lamp is made of glazed stoneware, which gives it an elegant and modern look. A decorative metal element adds sophistication and subtle shine to the lamp
ROKKE STONE is equipped with two LED light sources with a G9 thread, each with a power of up to 12W, which allows you to adjust the intensity of illumination to individual needs. The dimensions of the lamp are: 3,8 x 21 x 56,6 cm. These proportions make the lamp look slim and elegant even in a limited space.

Designed by
Michał Markiewicz
Designer, interior architect, co-founder and main creator of the UMMO Lighting brand. He comes from Gdansk, Poland, where he developed a passion for design from an early age. Even as a child he created lamps from available materials, rearranging lampshades and experimenting with form. Over time, he naturally gravitated towards interior design and industrial design, combining functionality with aesthetics in his own way.
He graduated with a degree in Interior Design, and also gained experience as a jewelry and furniture designer. Today he focuses on lighting, which he treats as “jewelry of the interior.” - It not only complements the space, but becomes its focal point. He draws inspiration from everyday life: forms, textures and shapes present in the environment.
His creative process involves a journey from sketch to prototype and final product, with functionality being paramount - each lamp must not only catch the eye, but also shine well. Michał's designs are dominated by recyclable materials: metal, glass, wood. UMMO's style is recognizable for its distinctive form and color, as well as its attention to quality and timelessness.
For Michał, local production and sustainable design are particularly important to minimize environmental impact and promote conscious design. UMMO Lighting is a brand that, through his vision, combines aesthetics with responsibility and craftsmanship with modernity.
