Design Description
YOTTSU A is a contemporary interpretation of the minimalist Italian design of the 1990s, where the minimalism of the form gives a unique subtlety, and every detail plays a structural and aesthetic role at the same time. The geometric, horizontal body of the lamp draws attention to the characteristic clearance - a subtle opening in the body of the lampshade, which adds to its optical lightness and dynamics. Thanks to this treatment, the luminaire gains a sculptural character, and the light not only illuminates the space, but also defines it visually. The colors of the luminaire are a broad palette of the UMMO brand: white RAL 9003, black RAL 9005, melon RAL 1028, blue RAL 5014.
Lamp components and functionality
The lamp is made of powder-coated metal, making it not only durable, but also aesthetically refined. Its internal light source is an integrated 14.4W LED panel (CRI 90), available in two color temperatures - 3000K or 4000K - which allows you to customize the interior atmosphere. The slim form with dimensions: 100 x 25 x 8 cm is suspended from thin steel cables, which further emphasizes its light and fine character.
The name YOTTSU comes from the Japanese language and means the number four - it is one of the basic terms used in everyday, material contexts, such as for counting objects. In the case of this fixture, the meaning takes on symbolic depth. The starting point for the name was the four-leaf clover - a symbol of happiness, harmony and rarity. Its uniqueness and natural symmetry became the inspiration for a lamp that not only illuminates a space, but also organizes it visually. The four leaves of the clover can be read as the metaphorical pillars of the design: light, form, function and emotion - values that make up the essence of YOTTSU.
In this view, the lamp becomes the focal point of the space, which does not impose itself, but orders the surroundings with its presence. Its streamlined but distinctive form acts as a luminous compass - a quiet guide around which everyday life can unfold. It is a luminaire designed with balance, orientation and intuitive elegance in mind, which fits in with conscious interior architecture.

Designed by
Michał Markiewicz
Designer, interior architect, co-founder and main creator of the UMMO Lighting brand. He comes from Gdansk, Poland, where he developed a passion for design from an early age. Even as a child he created lamps from available materials, rearranging lampshades and experimenting with form. Over time, he naturally gravitated towards interior design and industrial design, combining functionality with aesthetics in his own way.
He graduated with a degree in Interior Design, and also gained experience as a jewelry and furniture designer. Today he focuses on lighting, which he treats as “jewelry of the interior.” - It not only complements the space, but becomes its focal point. He draws inspiration from everyday life: forms, textures and shapes present in the environment.
His creative process involves a journey from sketch to prototype and final product, with functionality being paramount - each lamp must not only catch the eye, but also shine well. Michał's designs are dominated by recyclable materials: metal, glass, wood. UMMO's style is recognizable for its distinctive form and color, as well as its attention to quality and timelessness.
For Michał, local production and sustainable design are particularly important to minimize environmental impact and promote conscious design. UMMO Lighting is a brand that, through his vision, combines aesthetics with responsibility and craftsmanship with modernity.
