Design description
Caponio is a pendant lamp with a thoughtful form, inspired by the shape of a hat.
It combines modernity with classicism and exudes lightness. Its design draws from the tradition of Italian design, subtly reinterpreting modernist inspirations. The metal lampshade with a rounded, hat shape harmoniously harmonizes with the milky glass of the lampshade, which gently diffuses the light, giving the interior a pleasantly soft character. The metal lampshade is adjustable in height relative to the glass shade.
Lamp components and functionality
The whole is complemented by a textile braided cord and a metal headliner - both elements are kept in a consistent color scheme. There is a choice of colors: red-orange RAL 2002, black RAL 9005, white RAL 9003, olive RAL 6013 , blue RAL 5014. Caponio provides many possibilities for composing the interior thanks to its color scheme and compact dimensions (28 × 28 × 34,3 cm).
Caponio A has an interchangeable light source (E27 LED, up to 15W), which gives you full freedom to choose the color and power of the lighting - from a warm, relaxing glow to a cool and functional light. This allows you to fully adapt it to the climate of the interior and to your needs.
Application and IP20 protection class
The lamp has an IP20 protection class and was designed for dry and sheltered interiors - where the light is to build an atmosphere, not struggle with harsh conditions. It will be perfect in a living room, bedroom or hallway, as well as in commercial spaces such as offices or restaurants, but wherever it is not exposed to moisture or direct contact with water. It is a good idea to compose it in groups of several pieces. It's a lamp that needs extra protection from rain, steam and dust, so it's not suitable for bathrooms, kitchens (especially near a sink or cooktop), or outdoors - on a balcony or terrace.
The Caponio pendant lamp goes well with the standing lamp and wall lamp from the same series, creating a cohesive, modern lighting set. Such a combination allows you to maintain visual continuity in the space, combining ceiling, table and wall lighting into one harmonious composition.

Designed by
Michał Markiewicz
Designer, interior architect, co-founder and main creator of the UMMO Lighting brand. He comes from Gdansk, Poland, where he developed a passion for design from an early age. Even as a child he created lamps from available materials, rearranging lampshades and experimenting with form. Over time, he naturally gravitated towards interior design and industrial design, combining functionality with aesthetics in his own way.
He graduated with a degree in Interior Design, and also gained experience as a jewelry and furniture designer. Today he focuses on lighting, which he treats as “jewelry of the interior.” - It not only complements the space, but becomes its focal point. He draws inspiration from everyday life: forms, textures and shapes present in the environment.
His creative process involves a journey from sketch to prototype and final product, with functionality being paramount - each lamp must not only catch the eye, but also shine well. Michał's designs are dominated by recyclable materials: metal, glass, wood. UMMO's style is recognizable for its distinctive form and color, as well as its attention to quality and timelessness.
For Michał, local production and sustainable design are particularly important to minimize environmental impact and promote conscious design. UMMO Lighting is a brand that, through his vision, combines aesthetics with responsibility and craftsmanship with modernity.
