Design description
ENKEL 1 by UMMO is the quintessence of contemporary minimalism - a pendant lamp that combines economy of form with great expressive power. Its name comes from the Swedish word "enkel", meaning "simple" - and that's exactly what this fixture is: clean, functional, yet expressive in its expression.
Designed for modern spaces, ENKEL 1 draws on Nordic aesthetics - it relies on honesty of materials, clarity of form and details that do not overwhelm, but enhance the character of the interior. Its architectural design is based on the geometric silhouette of the metal shade, lacquered in a deep matte black shade, which gives the lamp a subtle elegance and timelessness.
Despite its simplicity, ENKEL 1 does not get lost in the space - it can serve as both a background and an accent to the arrangement. This is lighting that does not impose itself with its form, but consistently builds the atmosphere - consciously, minimalist and classy.
Lamp components and functionality
ENKEL 1 consists of a metal lampshade with a diameter of 17 cm, powder-coated in a deep black color with a structured finish. The whole is set on a minimalist metal ceiling bezel with a diameter of 12 cm, in the same shade of black.
The lamp is equipped with a 107.5 cm long black textile braided cable, which allows you to freely adjust the height of the suspension - from a short, functional overhang to a more striking form suspended low above the surface. The form of the lampshade was designed to adapt to different types of light sources. A standard A60 bulb remains hidden, creating a coherent, closed body, while a larger one - such as a decorative one with a diameter of 125 mm - extends beyond its outline, completely changing the character of the lamp and adding a designer flair.
The maximum total length of the lamp is 131 cm, making it suitable for both tall and standard rooms.
Application and IP20 protection class
ENKEL 1 is well suited to arrangements in modern, minimalist, japanese or industrial style. It will work well in the kitchen - suspended over a countertop or island - as well as in a living room, bedroom or commercial space, such as a restaurant or cafe.
Thanks to its IP20 rating, the lamp is suitable for use in dry indoor spaces.
The lamp is part of the ENKEL collection, in which you will also find a quadruple strip fixture and a wall lamp - this allows you to create a coherent lighting arrangement throughout the interior.

Handmade and unique character
Each lamp in the ENKEL collection is assembled by hand, with attention to detail and precision finishing. Matte, structural painting of the metal gives the fixture elegance, while increasing its resistance to minor damage. The simple, but original character of this lamp makes it easily fit into the individual atmosphere of any interior.

Designed by
Michał Markiewicz
Designer, interior architect, co-founder and main creator of the UMMO Lighting brand. He comes from Gdansk, Poland, where he developed a passion for design from an early age. Even as a child he created lamps from available materials, rearranging lampshades and experimenting with form. Over time, he naturally gravitated towards interior design and industrial design, combining functionality with aesthetics in his own way.
He graduated with a degree in Interior Design, and also gained experience as a jewelry and furniture designer. Today he focuses on lighting, which he treats as “jewelry of the interior.” - It not only complements the space, but becomes its focal point. He draws inspiration from everyday life: forms, textures and shapes present in the environment.
His creative process involves a journey from sketch to prototype and final product, with functionality being paramount - each lamp must not only catch the eye, but also shine well. Michał's designs are dominated by recyclable materials: metal, glass, wood. UMMO's style is recognizable for its distinctive form and color, as well as its attention to quality and timelessness.
For Michał, local production and sustainable design are particularly important to minimize environmental impact and promote conscious design. UMMO Lighting is a brand that, through his vision, combines aesthetics with responsibility and craftsmanship with modernity.
