Design description
The name Funsui comes from the Japanese language, where it means a fountain or stream of water - a symbol of movement, lightness and constant flow. It is these qualities that are found in this unique pendant lamp by UMMO. Its form is reminiscent of a sea buoy or an organic, blobby shape - rounded, irregular, but perfectly balanced.
Inspired by Funsui's Memphis style with its penchant for color, playfulness and bold forms, the design stops one step short of extravagance. It maintains modernist discipline, proportion and functionality - characteristic of UMMO's brand DNA.
Lamp components and functionality
The lamp is made of three diverse materials: frosted metal, milky glass and natural ash wood. This carefully considered combination of textures and tones makes FUNSUI an eye-catcher, without disturbing the coherence of the interior. The dimensions of the lamp are 8.4 x 8.4 x 35.3 cm.
The centerpiece of the lamp is a milky glass shade, which gently diffuses the light, providing a soft, pleasant glow. Inside is an integrated world source, available in two brawns - 3000K or 4000K.
The whole is suspended from an aesthetically pleasing white braided polyester cable, 124.7 cm long, ending in a subtle ceiling bezel with a diameter of 10 cm. The total length of the lamp is 160 cm.
Application and IP20 protection class
FUNSUI was designed for use in dry interiors, where the light has not only a utilitarian function, but also an aesthetic one. The IP20 protection class means that the lamp is ideal for use in the living room, over the dining room table, in the kitchen (away from moisture), bedroom or in commercial spaces - such as showrooms, galleries or cafes.
The lamp should not be installed in bathrooms or in the immediate vicinity of humid areas, where increased moisture levels could affect its performance.
The Funsui pendant lamp goes well with the standing lamp and wall lamp from the same series, creating a cohesive, modern lighting set. This combination allows you to maintain visual continuity in the space, combining ceiling, table and wall lighting into one harmonious composition.

Designed by
Michał Markiewicz
Designer, interior architect, co-founder and main creator of the UMMO Lighting brand. He comes from Gdansk, Poland, where he developed a passion for design from an early age. Even as a child he created lamps from available materials, rearranging lampshades and experimenting with form. Over time, he naturally gravitated towards interior design and industrial design, combining functionality with aesthetics in his own way.
He graduated with a degree in Interior Design, and also gained experience as a jewelry and furniture designer. Today he focuses on lighting, which he treats as “jewelry of the interior.” - It not only complements the space, but becomes its focal point. He draws inspiration from everyday life: forms, textures and shapes present in the environment.
His creative process involves a journey from sketch to prototype and final product, with functionality being paramount - each lamp must not only catch the eye, but also shine well. Michał's designs are dominated by recyclable materials: metal, glass, wood. UMMO's style is recognizable for its distinctive form and color, as well as its attention to quality and timelessness.
For Michał, local production and sustainable design are particularly important to minimize environmental impact and promote conscious design. UMMO Lighting is a brand that, through his vision, combines aesthetics with responsibility and craftsmanship with modernity.
