Design description
Are we going to make a snowman today? What's not! From snowballs we will make a lamp - and not just any lamp. KUUL A is a tribute to geometry and purity of form, where three perfectly smooth, milky white spheres form a suspended composition, resembling a mobile of white planets suspended in the air. This pendant lamp impresses with its lightness and rhythm, combining childlike playfulness with adult precision craftsmanship.
Designed with coherence and harmony in mind, KUUL A fits perfectly in modern settings, as well as in japanese, loft or classic interiors. Its minimalist yet striking appearance is the result of conscious design - with respect for proportions, light and materials. The black lacquered base and braided wires contrast with the delicacy of the milky glass, creating an impression of elegant balance.
Lamp components and functionality
KUUL A is a ceiling lamp that combines three glass shades, each 15 cm in diameter - made of milky white glass, providing soft and diffused light. The spherical forms are suspended from three polyester braided textile cables, which are 112.5 cm long - enough to create a striking multi-level light composition.
The luminaire has a powder-coated metal bezel with a subtle structure, which stabilizes the entire structure and adds to its expressiveness. The lamp's total length is 130 cm and its width is 48.2 cm, making KUUL A perfect as a central source of light over a table, kitchen island or in a living room.
Each of the shades conceals an interchangeable light source with a popular G9 thread (max 3x12W LED), which gives you the freedom to choose the power and color temperature - depending on your design needs.
Application and protection class IP20 / IP44
KUUL A was designed for domestic and commercial spaces where style and light matter. In the IP20 version, it will work well in living rooms, dining rooms or bedrooms - places where there is no increased humidity. The IP44 variant also allows installation in spaces exposed to moisture, such as kitchens or bathrooms (outside the zone of direct contact with water).
KUUL A is part of the larger KUUL collection - a cohesive family of lamps, which also includes the KUUL B plafond, KUUL D, D1 wall lamps and KUUL F, G and E pendant lamps. By putting these fixtures together, you can create a harmonious, unified lighting system - full of warmth, rhythm and subtle geometry.

Designed by
Michał Markiewicz
Designer, interior architect, co-founder and main creator of the UMMO Lighting brand. He comes from Gdansk, Poland, where he developed a passion for design from an early age. Even as a child he created lamps from available materials, rearranging lampshades and experimenting with form. Over time, he naturally gravitated towards interior design and industrial design, combining functionality with aesthetics in his own way.
He graduated with a degree in Interior Design, and also gained experience as a jewelry and furniture designer. Today he focuses on lighting, which he treats as “jewelry of the interior.” - It not only complements the space, but becomes its focal point. He draws inspiration from everyday life: forms, textures and shapes present in the environment.
His creative process involves a journey from sketch to prototype and final product, with functionality being paramount - each lamp must not only catch the eye, but also shine well. Michał's designs are dominated by recyclable materials: metal, glass, wood. UMMO's style is recognizable for its distinctive form and color, as well as its attention to quality and timelessness.
For Michał, local production and sustainable design are particularly important to minimize environmental impact and promote conscious design. UMMO Lighting is a brand that, through his vision, combines aesthetics with responsibility and craftsmanship with modernity.
